Oilers Discussion / Re: Oilers re-sign Justin Shultz to one year contract

Schultz is definitely going to be a good player. I wished they had convinced him at 6y x 5m. The expectations put on these young inexperienced guys is quite high, we need to let them play and mature a bit before calling them busts and less than average, as some are saying in the internets. MacT is doing ok.

Put yourself in the GM chair / Evander Kane an Oiler?

Rumour circulating - Evander Kane for David Perron and the Oilers 1rst next year?

Does it makes sense for the Oilers and Jets?

Oilers Discussion / Re: Oilers have traded Sam Gagner

If people are looking at this trade like we added a bunch of size and grit, you're nuts. Teddy is exactly that, a Teddy Bear, plays a very  pussified game for a bigger man. I just hope he can get his scoring going and win a few board battles, which he sucks at as well (the board battles). I am not sure how this will all look in years time, GOOD I HOPE. This trade could be ok or it could be on par with the hiring of Eakins, which was horrible.

It appears Yakupov is not going to get top 6 minutes this year, and it is starting to seem he just doesn't fit very well. I have no idea why they drafted him in the first place according to team needs and who was #2 #3 pick.

I would try a deal with the Islanders, Yakupov for Dal Colle and Clutterbuck. We are more in need of a Clutterbuck than a Yakupov right now and we would have a nice bigger scoring winger in Dal Colle coming in a few years. I thingk it kind of makes sense for both sides. I am sure Tavares wouldn't mind Yakupov on the wing right now.

Oilers Discussion / Re: Oilers select Draisaitl

Have to agree with you folks, I like the Draisaitl pick. He adds much needed size up the middle. I hope the big rusky coming to OKC this year can make third line centre one day.

Oilers Discussion / Re: Canucks get Dorsett for 3rd round pick

Yes I agree that Dorsett could have helped us for sure and a 3rd round pick in exchange is peanuts. Maybe Taylor Hall didn't want him hahah after the ankle sprain fight.

Hopefully we get a player like him very soon.

Good evening gentlemen. Welcome to the board Bargey. I have to concur about the Sanchez Pearson fight, that was robbery maybe the worst I have seen. Some of these events are pretty watered down, even though it was free I am still complaining :)

Well we do need size down the middle, problem is, Draisaitl is just size, he is not very physical but he does guard the puck well. I am pretty sure we don't Ekblad, it would be nice to get him but we are more in need of that middle ice area anyway.

Reinhart and Bennett are both better players than Draisaitl, so its going to be a tough decision, and actually Dal Colle is no slouch, everyone in the top 5 is a good pick. I would flip a coin on Bennett and Draisaitl if Reinhart and Ekblad are gone, thats a tough decision. I do think Bennett and Reinhart will be higher scorers than Draisaitl in the NHL, and you have to tip the hat to them both being Canadians.

I kind of feel sorry for Lander, he does so well in the AHL and can't seem to find his mojo with the big team. He needs a goal to get him going and build the confidence.

OKC Barons / Re: Two big games this weekend for Barons

I missed it, good to hear they are in a playoff position now, just looked up standings and it looks very tight. Its going to be tough to make it.

Well we certainly aren't being pushed around by the Quackers.  I would like to see Eakins use our 4 lines a little more.

I still would like to see someone drill Perry, just don't like the guy.

Nice to see some of our drafts getting a chance in the run to playoffs.

Oilers Game day / Re: Oilers vs Coyotes

Well it sounds like Eakins is going to keep RNH,Eberle,Hall together for another game so I hope they keep rolling. They have looked really good lately, but if any team can get you frustrated, its the Coyotes.

Hopefully Smyth can get his PP goal and get that over with, be nice to see if he retires at end of season.
